here comes the first typhoon signal in 2006... we have typhoon chanchu [pearl]...

the forecast track has predicted that the typhoon will come quite close to hongkong... and it has brought severe demages at its last stop - philippine...

should we have typhoon holiday??? yeah, hehe... but oooops... no, no, no... just remember the church / study room will suffer from water leakage... plus rev mak & esther chan will depart on wed afternoon for the acm tour @ vancouver & seattle... //sigh...

意想不到 @ hongkong...

as an internal gathering for "acm"ers in hongkong... we replay the program of the NA tour - "意想不到"... the first-ever and the last "意想不到" [full length] gathering in hongkong...

with only limited time and manpower... we only have one evening for the praise team [ta chan be the worship leader; anita, theysee, charlie + me be the worship team] going through all the songs and necessary actions... we only have alan playing the piano for the entire program...

God's work will never be restricted by our limitations... He does work among His people, among those seeking His presence... all of us are being so touched by His Spirit...

good to see some old friends, esp thomas & meggie... even though we don't have time to chat... thomas & meggie should be now getting prepared for their move to toronto... as meggie has committed to volunteer full-time at acm canada... for sure God will lead their way and make the way for them...

btw the next round of NA tour is coming... rev mak and esther will be leaving on may 17... the group will be travelling to vancouver and seattle for around 2 weeks... pls pray for the trip... let the congregation be moved by God's Spirit... let "意想不到" be the blessings for all the God's ppl...

the magical world...

i take a day off today... going to the magical world - disneyland - with siuwai... yeah~~~

the weather is just so-so [thunderstorm in the moring]... and it is just a normal weekday... so not many ppl in the park... and need not to line up hours for just one 5-minute game...

disneyland is really a magical world... u can leave all ur troubles and doubts behind... and enjoy the day filled with fun and laughter... but it is just a bit too small - hope the construction work of phrase II will soon start...

my best friend's wedding...

[april 22] happy marriage to mr & mrs goldfish...

today is my best friend's wedding... em... it should be my best friends' wedding... coz both bride and groom are my very good friends... and i'm so glad to be their best man...

i met chris [mr goldfish] in montreal... he was the "chairman" of the fellowship [the youth fellowship] at church... but after half a year, he went back to hong kong for a job... and not until 2002 summer, we met again at his church - and now our church... the oneness in our Lord has brought us together... we have partnered in various church events... or just like what the chinese say 一見如故 or 相逢恨晚...

it is indeed quite tiring... but i hope the couple would enjoy the day...

qingyuen double header...

i have visited qingyuen twice last week... and spent a total of 4 days (2 x 2 days) there...

first was during the CNY holiday with mum for sight-seeing... but the trip was just so-so... as i've got a cold/fever and so moodless... //sigh... but i soon recovered in 12 hours [hopefully]...

second was a mission trip... having a retreat camp with around 30 young christians there... also music training at another church... the experience was great and my teaching skill is yet to improve... but then i can finally take a REAL look of how qingyuen is like...

3 days to go - the year of dog...

it's so good to be a Chinese... since we have two new years to celebrate...

according to the Chinese calendar... jan 29 gonna be the Chinese new year (CNY), a.k.a. Lunar new year... and it is the year of dog in 2006...

CNY is time for family union... CNY is time for food and fun... CNY is time for the Chinese to give thanks... CNY is time for holidays... but out of all - CNY is time for us to get red pocket - the CNY money, from our parents, relatives and colleagues (esp boss)... another important source of income for the year... haha...

still 3 days to go... but having no mood to work already... =p haha... wish u alll having happy and "moneyful" chinese new year!

this evening, the three - carter, petrus and i - went for a movie: Moonlight In Tokyo... casted by leon lai and chapman to... it is just more than a comedy... the ending is indeed quite sad but also touching...

we have a quite common feeling after watching... our relationship among we three is so "ar jun and ar hoi" like... not about the cheating... but simple and deep-in-heart brotherhood...

another 3 hours of exam...

today i took another exam - AORE: the ex-CRE part II...

in this exam, u need to read some 20 pages... and finish all 3 writing tasks in 3 hours... one task is in Chinese... another in English... and u can choose to use either language to complete the third one...

this year's topic is about post-secondary education... self-financed sub-degree programmes... and self-accrediting policy of government-funded universities...

how's my performance? i think so-so... spent too much time in the first task... and left not enough for the final one - which required much creativity... and yet to improve my language skills and capacity of vocab... plus missed out quite some points...

but it is really a very good experience... as i haven't taken any writing tests for 3 or more years...

let's see... if the result is good enough, then i will be invited for the next round - that is the interview...
